Transfer Existing Inventory Items List to Incremental
The steps below outline an easy way to transfer an existing list of inventory items to Incremental using Microsoft Excel®.
- Exit Incremental Server if running.
- Go to the folder where Incremental Server stores your inventory, invoices, and messages.
- Locate the text file named inventory or inventory.txt and open the file using Microsoft Excel®.
- Add inventory items as shown below.
Columns A (Item Number), B (Description), D (Unit Price), E (Inventory Quantity), and L (Standard Unit Cost) must be completed for each inventory item. Completion of other inventory information is optional. Use the table below as a guide.

- Save inventory.txt (tab-delimited text format)
- Exit Microsoft Excel®. Incremental Server can not open an inventory file while it is open in Microsoft Excel®.
- Load Incremental to view your inventory.
