Transfer Existing Inventory Items List to Incremental

The steps below outline an easy way to transfer an existing list of inventory items to Incremental using Microsoft Excel®.

  1. Exit Incremental Server if running.
  2. Go to the folder where Incremental Server stores your inventory, invoices, and messages.
  3. Locate the text file named inventory or inventory.txt and open the file using Microsoft Excel®.
  4. Add inventory items as shown below.

    Columns A (Item Number), B (Description), D (Unit Price), E (Inventory Quantity), and L (Standard Unit Cost) must be completed for each inventory item. Completion of other inventory information is optional. Use the table below as a guide.

  5. Save inventory.txt (tab-delimited text format)
  6. Exit Microsoft Excel®. Incremental Server can not open an inventory file while it is open in Microsoft Excel®.
  7. Load Incremental to view your inventory.
